Ai V/S Filmmakers : new debate in town

 








Ai vs filmmaker is a new debate in town because of the announcement of India's first AI generated , theatrically positioned and  featured film  ," CHIRANJIVI HANUMAN - THE ETERNAL " . Realising On HANUMAN JAYANTI 2026.













The film is produced by Abundantia Entertainment and Collective Media Network's Historyverse .


The film aimes to blend traditions with technology . A dedicated team of more then 50 engineers , tech Armes and AI driven production in collaboration with cultural experts to insure the authenticity.


 what's the problem?


Indian Filmmakers like Anurag Kashyap, Imtiyaz Ali and Karan Johar are not very happy and showing their disappointment on social media by posting story . 










Anurag kashyap views :


  • Anurag kashyap feels that using AI in film making is a big Betrayal of human creators and unethical when supported by industry leaders.
  • Anurag kashyap also attack Vijay Subramaniam for  producing  AI films and prioritize profit over human writers and directors.
  • Anurag kashyap also questioned AI generated content 's creativity by saying "it only borrows from what already exists" 
  • He also called agencies who produce AI generated content Spineless . And request them who work in this production to question or either leave..
  • Anurag kashyap took his instagram story and express his dislike about AI generated content and call out that human emotions are missing.


Imtiyaz Ali:

  • Imtiyaz Ali is known for his deeply personal narratives has expressed that human emotions are missing .
  • Imtiyaz Ali added that AI can only mimic style , it can not replicate Imtiyaz Effect.
  • Director also feels using AI as a Short cut can feel Without Creative Depth .
  • Imtiyaz Ali also shere that his approach to film making is rooted in self evolution and human experience which a machine can no feel .


Karan Johar:

  • Karan Johar compared human creativity to fresh Orange Juice and AI to Canned juice.
  • While Canned AI can lead to higher sales it lacks the purity of "Human Emotions".
  • He also added that AI might  master creature movies but will never be able to replicate the Emotional depth of human feelings.


Upcoming AI Generated Films:









Naisha :

  • Directed by Vivek Anchalia , this is being marketed as India's first AI -Powered Bollywood Film .it features fully AI generated lead characters Naisha Bose and Zain Kapoor .
  • The romentic drama was scheduled for May 2025 but got delayed to add more advanced AI technology.

Bal Tanhaji :

  • Balaji is Ajay Devgan's film it is a AI powerd prequel to his 2020 film Tanhaji : The Unsung hero 
  • Ajay Devgan also launched a company called Prismix . The company focusing on generative AI storytelling.












May be the directors are worried about AI will replace them , or may be they are right that AI can't bring human emotions...

Whatever it is we can't stop it .. we have to learn how to deal with it .. we have to prioritise our choices if we really even want AI driven content or we want to stick to our old full of human emotions content..
