An Indian movie "Homebound" Directed by Niraj Ghaywan produced by Karan Johar ,Adar Poonawalla and Apoorva Mehta got everyone hope for the Oskar .. as the Oskar nomination announced for the 98th Accademy awards on 22nd of January morning, unfortunately, we lost to secure our position in the list of 5 Films for the" Best International feature category "
Till date only three India films have ever received a nomination for this category and the movies are "Mother India (1957), Salaam Bombay (1988) and Lagan (2001) .

Homebound is inspired by journalist Basharat peer's article taking Amrit home also titled (A friendship, a pandemic and a death beside the highway)
Homebound shows the friendship between Shoaib( Ishan khattar ) and Chandan(,Vishal Jethva) .they shared dream of joining Police force to solve their problems and earn Respect.. but destiny was not on favour to them ... They go through so much ups and downs ... Film also connect us to the problem that every young Indian faces ... Janvi kapoor add Emotional depth to the movie ...
Film take major turn when pandemic hits , both the friends lost their job and unable to even go home ... Some seans are very emotional... Overall a reality hit movie that give every Indian goosebumps..
- After hearing the news of not getting nomination for the Oskar.. Karan Johar took his instagram story to share that He is proud of the movie and it's journey.. he wrote that "Proud, Love you @neerajgaywan for allowing us to bask in your light " Neeraj also replied in his kind gesture and. Wrote in his story "Thank you Karan Johar you have been an absolute rock could not have come this far without you " .

Indian cinema had a monumental moment on an International plateform as Homebound debuted at "Cannes 2025" in the Un Certain Regard Section - And what happened after that ? Very Indian got emotional and overwhelmed when the movie got 9 minutes standing ovation... Yes 9 minutes..
